Conditioning for track begins on Tuesday, February 21 in the Multi Purpose room at 3:00. Conditioning will last until approximately 4:30 and is for all athletes; sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers, distance runners and throwers. Be prepared to go outside.


The boys and girls indoor track teams for SMCC competed at the Sid Sink Invitational at Bowling Green State University on Saturday, January 28. Ciara Fulton ran the 1600 and 800 and posted impressive times for her first ever track competition. For the boys distance team Matt Costello competed in the 1600 and 800 and ran good races for the first meet of the season. Tony Rodriguez competed in the 3200 with a time of 10:55.


Senior Armelle DeRiso ran with a vengance in the sprint events. Her 1:03 400m and 28.3 200m were the best times ever recorded for a female indoor track participant. She was also strong in the 60m dash with a time of 8.65. Sophomore Kennedy Gennari was also impressive with a 8.73 clocking in the 60 and a 14'10" long jump. Sophomore Jared MacDonald ran in the 60m, 200m and 400m races while getting ready for an outdoor season of competing in the hurdle events.


The indoor track team will be in action again on Sunday, February 26 at Oberlin College.
